OUR MISSION

The Rusty Mutt is a local, woman-owned premiere mobile dog grooming spa. We love dogs and treat each as our own. Our mission is to provide consistent, customized, and compassionate care to every pet we groom.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to enrich the mobile dog grooming experience for pets and families in a healthy, positive, and stress-free environment. We use cutting edge equipment and safe, quality products for the exceptional and personalized well-being of every dog.

OUR CORE VALUES

We are Authentic

We squirrel for dogs! Our grooming bag is packed with positive energy, professional skills, and a genuine passion for pups. Dogs can instantly sniff out a person’s character – when they see us - ears perk and tails wag!

We Build

Honesty is the best policy and so is kindness. We build honest lasting relationships by being reliable; transparent about our products, methods, and processes; and above all, we rock kindness.

We Communicate

We ace the art of communication by listening to you. Dogs have good and bad days just like us, so we strive to fully address your wants, needs and challenges in a custom-tailored grooming plan, which may change on a given day.

We Deliver
Consistent, dependable, and professional service is our heart song and we dance to that beat at every appointment regardless of your pup’s age, breed, or special requirements.

We Educate

Seeking out, learning, and providing educational tips and tricks for you and your pet is part of our DNA. Healthy and happy are blessings we aim to replicate to all our "Rusty Mutters".

THE RUSTY MUTT STORY

Hot dogs – grilled, smothered with his special chili recipe, and covered with onions was my dad’s favorite vice. After he retired, dad would talk about his “list” of things to do during retirement. On the “list” was opening a hot dog cart/truck business. While I did not carry the hot dog loving gene as my dad and the rest of the family, I encouraged his vision and told him he should go big and buy an Oscar Mayer vehicle - who wouldn’t stop to check out a big weiner mobile? He would smile and say, “it’s on the list”.

As the years passed, dad’s “list” was packed with fishing trips, European vacations, tending to his garden, crafting fabulous cocktails, and entertaining friends and family with his talent in the kitchen (a gene I did inherit). In his spare time, dad enjoyed playing with his Westie, Churchill and my Chocolate Lab, Carr. From time to time, I would circle back and ask, “what about the hot dog business”? He would just smile and say, “it’s on the list”.

“Rusty” never got around to finish his list. He took his final fishing trip February 19, 2021, five weeks after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It was unexpected, incomprehensible, and absolutely devastating. Six months earlier, I lost my grandfather, “Rusty” and six months after, I lost my chocolate lab, Carr. The profound loss prompted a deep dive to redefine my purpose, so I pivoted into the world of dogs – a world filled with unconditional love and sloppy kisses.

“The Rusty Mutt” is in honor of my dad and my “Pop-Pop” and in memory of my beloved Carr. I never liked hot dogs - but I absolutely love every one of my Rusty Mutt “Haute Dogs”!
